Welcome to The Globe Hotel, a character 16th century coaching inn located in Topsham, Devon, a busy and popular estuary town just downriver from Exeter.
The Globe is at the centre of the Topsham community. You can drop in for morning coffee, or a pint of local ale or a glass of wine. We serve excellent food at all levels, produced almost entirely using local and locally sourced ingredients, from simple bar snacks to full 3-course meals in our popular Elizabethan Restaurant.
We are the only hotel in Topsham and offer comfortable accommodation in 19 rooms, all en-suite including character four-posters and half-testers in the main inn and more modern accommodation in the Courtyard annex. If you prefer self-catering, we can offer modern fully serviced accommodation in the nearby Steam Packet apartments, with stunning views over Topsham Quay and the Exe estuary.
Come to The Globe to listen to folk music, play skittles or bingo. In 2008, we were at the centre of the Topsham Food Festival and organised Nello’s Longest Table (which the Daily Express called ‘Britain’s biggest dinner party’). Lots of fun events and activities take place in The Globe regularly and throughout the year.
The Malthouse is available for hire, both for private parties as well as for business meetings and conferences.
The Globe has been in the Price family since 1978. Ann Price continues to oversee proceedings, while daughter Liz and her husband Dave look after the day-to-day running of operations, both here and at The Globe’s sister establishment Route 2 Café Bar and Cycle Hire, just down the road.
Both The Globe and Route 2 are eco-businesses that have won awards for green tourism and sustainability.
